Job summary

Our Client in Manchester is seeking an Expert Big Data Scientist with 7–10 years of experience in NLP and large-scale data analysis. You will work in a multidisciplinary, highly technical team to apply scalable data mining and machine learning techniques, including kernel methods and deep learning.

Responsibilities include translating business needs into technical requirements and leveraging distributed computing tools such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive and Pig. A MSc/PhD is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience as a Big Data Scientist.
• NLP knowledge and experience; analyses large data sets.
• Experience with big data technologies and Hadoop ecosystem.
• Kernel Methods, Deep Learning, ensemble methods.
• Model and analyze data to hypothesize use cases for business value.
• Translate business needs to technical requirements and implementation.
• Experience with distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Pig).
• Advanced Excel for analytical tasks.
• MSc or PhD in a quantitative field is advantageous.
