About the company

Our privately owned client is a leading name within the enabling works industry that prides itself on their excellent reputation to deliver projects within budget and to programme, whilst always maintaining high standards and quality. They are a professional, technically minded and modern contractor who have proven success in operating primarily as principal contractor on their projects throughout the UK. Much of their work is secured due to repeat business, and package values range up to £15M. As a multifaceted contractor, their core areas of expertise include demolition, temporary works, façade retention, asbestos removal, earthworks and minor civils infrastructure, and current turnover stands in excess of £150M.

About the opportunity

Due to continued successful growth, our client is recruiting permanently for a Bid Writer. Reporting to the Bid Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Bid Manager, Business Development and preconstruction bid teams in timely planning, management and completion of PQQ and Tender bid submissions, including bid writing and coordination.

As a Bid Writer, you will be responsible for managing several bids at once in a demanding and fast paced environment; proof reading and rewriting inbound tender information; creating visually attractive client presentations for pre/during/post tender period; maintaining and improving the bid response library, including reviewing post tender submission client feedback and managing the end-to-end bid process to name just a few duties.

The role will be based permanently from their office in Central London (no hybrid working is available) and working hours at 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday.

About the benefits and rewards

For this permanent opportunity, my client is targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £38,000 - £42,000 per annum; however there may be flexibility on this as the specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered which includes all travel expenses covered, private health care, 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enrolment into their pension scheme. Lastly, you'll be put through relevant training and progression plans will be put in place so you have a streamlined development plan for the future.

About the requirements

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a minimum of 1 year's experience within bid writing, which must have been gained whilst working within the construction industry in the UK. As a Bid Writer, you will be able to write a variety of responses and documents, demonstrate good use of English and have the ability to convert draft notes into proposals. Due to the nature of the opportunity, you must be able to show the ability to work to strict deadlines and be IT literate in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Experience in InDesign is preferred but not essential.
