Job summary

Kier Places is seeking a Bid Writer to own the content of quality submissions and craft compelling bids to win, drawing on its extensive FM sector knowledge.

You will collaborate with the Operations team and specialists to develop content for local bids and strategic national opportunities, manage clarifications, and support site visits and interviews. This role requires strong teamwork and deadline-driven delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in bid environments and producing compelling written submissions.
• Strong background in facilities management (FM) and related sectors.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the written content of quality submissions and craft winning bids.

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team where you'll use your skills and experience to make a real difference. The Bid Writer will play a key role in supporting the planned and sustained business growth of Kier Places through preparing successful submissions and supporting the end-to-end bid process. You'll work closely with the Operations Team and functional specialists to develop new content, working on both local bids and strategic national opportunities. Kier Places provides FM, maintenance, fire safety, compliance and refurbishment projects to a wide range of public sector clients, and as we work towards our growth ambitions, you'll be critical to achieving our success.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Bid Writer, you'll be working within the Kier Places team, supporting them in achieving challenging work winning targets. Your day to day will include:

• Owning the written content of quality submissions and crafting compelling bids that win
• Establishing a clear understanding of client requirements and developing win plans for each opportunity
• Managing the clarification process with clients and keeping the bid team fully informed throughout
• Supporting teams to prepare for site visits and interviews, including presentations and team briefings
• Attending bid handover meetings to ensure all knowledge gained during the tender period is communicated to delivery teams

You have a strong background in FM and understand the sector well

• You have demonstrable experience of working in a bid environment
• You're used to working to demanding deadlines and remain resilient under pressure
• You're a strong team player who enjoys collaborating with others to reach innovative solutions
