Job Description
About the Company

Our client is a leading name in the waste and resource management industry, helping businesses and local authorities transition toward a circular, low-carbon future. Through innovation, partnership, and environmental responsibility, they are redefining how the UK manages its waste — turning materials once destined for landfill into valuable resources.

Bid Manager Role

As a Bid Manager, you will play a vital role in helping them secure new contracts across waste collection, recycling, and resource recovery services. Working closely with business development, operations, and commercial teams, you’ll be responsible for crafting compelling, accurate, and high-quality proposals that clearly communicate our client’s value proposition and technical expertise. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys writing, coordination, and collaboration — and who is motivated by sustainability and business growth.

Bid Manager Responsibilities
  • Develop, write, and edit persuasive bid and tender documents for public and private sector clients.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to gather technical and operational information.
  • Translate complex service offerings into clear, engaging written proposals.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end bid process — from opportunity tracking and bid qualification through to submission and post-bid review.
  • Ensure all proposals comply with client specifications and company governance requirements.
  • Maintain a library of standard content, case studies, and supporting documents.
  • Support wider business development and marketing initiatives when required.
Bid Manager Background
  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer / Bid Manager, Proposal Writer, or Tender Coordinator, ideally within the waste, recycling, facilities management, or environmental services sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of the public procurement process (OJEU, frameworks, or local authority contracts) is highly desirable.
  • Passion for sustainability, circular economy, and the environment.
Bid Manager Package
  • £45,000 - £50,000 DOE.
  • Hybrid/flexible working options.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • The chance to play a meaningful role in a company driving real environmental change.
