Job summary

Buildforce Solutions Ltd. is seeking a skilled Bid Manager for the Midlands region with flexible hybrid working. You will lead two-stage and negotiated tenders, align commercial strategies, and manage internal and external resources to deliver high-quality bids on time and within budget.

The role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication, and a proven track record in preconstruction management and bid delivery for large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Preconstruction Manager, Bid Manager, Estimating or similar role.
• Experience delivering two-stage/negotiated tenders on projects valued between £10m-£100m.
• Strong commercial, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent understanding of construction, design and the preconstruction process.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary bid teams across two-stage and negotiated tenders.
• Develop commercial strategies and manage bids from inception through to handover.
• Manage client relationships, expectations, risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate internal teams, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Ensure high-quality, commercially focused bids are delivered on time.
• Drive collaboration, continuous improvement and sustainability throughout preconstruction.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and be responsible for managing both internal and external resources to deliver successful bids, on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard. This is a key role within the preconstruction function, essentially project managing the entire preconstruction bid process from inception through to handover.

With a proven track record of delivering successful projects and bids, you will lead two‑stage and negotiated tenders for projects ranging from £10m to £100m, across a diverse range of sectors including Education, Leisure, Healthcare and Commercial.
