Are you ready to shape the success of complex, strategic bids and play a leading role in our high‑performing Bid Management function? We're looking for a Bid Management Lead to join our Distribution Enablement team at Royal London. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the operational delivery of our Bid Management function, ensuring the production of high‑quality, competitive proposals that win and retain profitable business. You'll work closely with Business Development, Proposition, Marketing, and other key stakeholders to align bid strategies with client needs and business priorities. About the role
  • Oversee the delivery of bid management activities, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and compelling submissions.
  • Personally lead complex and strategically important bids, acting as the primary escalation point for live opportunities.
  • Coordinate and support a team of Bid Managers and a Bid Co‑ordinator, balancing workload and optimising outcomes.
  • Embed best‑practice bid management, drive continuous improvement, and lead the adoption of QorusDocs software.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and quality standards are consistently met across all bid activity.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure bid strategies align with client needs and business priorities.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to shape future business propositions, based on market feedback and win/loss analysis.
About you
  • Significant experience managing bid and tender activity in a corporate environment, ideally aligned to APMP principles.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing bid or proposal team.
  • Strong understanding of the Workplace benefits and Protection markets, with up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with a proactive and positive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Commitment to delivering consistent, high‑quality, client‑focused outputs.
  • APMP qualified to Foundation level
