Job summary

Schools’ Choice is recruiting an experienced BI & Insights Manager on an interim basis to lead the organisation's BI, Insights and Data function in Coventry. The role is hybrid with two days per week in the office and a flexible day rate.

You will manage a team of analysts, build performance dashboards, and drive data-led decision making across services, ensuring data quality and reporting readiness for statutory needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Business Intelligence Manager, Insights Manager or similar leadership role.
• Experience within Local Authority or wider public sector environment.
• Experience leading analytical and reporting teams.
• Strong knowledge of BI tools, reporting solutions and dashboard development.
• Experience of data modelling, data warehousing and managing complex datasets.
• Knowledge of information governance, data management and GDPR.
• Understanding of local government structures, services and performance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of Senior BI, Insight and Data Analysts.
• Partner with services across the organisation to gather and interpret business requirements.
• Oversee the design, development and maintenance of dashboards, reports and BI solutions.
• Drive a consistent approach to performance reporting and management information.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy and integrity of all published data, analysis and reporting.
• Produce insightful analysis, commentary, trend identification and benchmarking to support operational and strategic decision making.
• Develop reporting solutions and support the automation of management information processes.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders, IT teams and service leads to influence system and operational improvements.
• Provide expert advice on analytical methodologies, business intelligence and data management.
• Identify opportunities to improve services, reduce costs and enhance organisational performance through data and insight.
• Lead the implementation and development of BI tools, data visualisation and reporting platforms.
• Support statutory reporting requirements and organisational inspection readiness.
• Deputise for the Head of Performance, Data and Continuous Improvement when required.
