Qualifications

BI Developer

The BI Developer joins our client’s data team to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that facilitate data-driven decision making across the organisation. The role supports a hybrid working environment and requires close collaboration with stakeholders to deliver effective reporting tools.

Role Overview

The BI Developer reports to the Business Intelligence Manager and will be responsible for creating dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics solutions using Qlik Sense and/or Power BI. They will gather business requirements to build data models, optimise SQL queries, and support operational efficiency through automation. Success in this role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reporting outputs, troubleshooting data issues, and providing end-user support. The role involves collaborating with data scientists, database administrators, and development teams to ensure data integrity and performance, while participating in Agile ceremonies to support iterative delivery.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Qlik Sense and/or Power BI.
• Gather and translate business requirements into effective BI and reporting solutions.
• Design and optimise SQL queries, data models, and reporting datasets.
• Improve reporting processes, data quality, and operational efficiency through automation.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues affecting BI solutions and data.
• Promote data-driven decision making by providing insights, training, and support to end users.
• Collaborate with data science, database administration, and development teams to ensure data integrity and performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing BI solutions using Qlik Sense (Power BI also considered).
• Strong stakeholder management and requirements-gathering skills.
• Solid SQL development skills with experience in data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working within Agile environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
