Some on-site work required

We're working with an NHS Trust in West Yorkshire who are looking for an experienced Principal BI Analyst to support their Business Intelligence team for an initial three-month period. The role sits at a senior level within the BI function and will focus on producing high-quality analysis and reporting that helps clinical and operational teams make informed decisions.

You’ll take the lead for specific reporting areas within the Trust, this could be corporate services, finance, women and children’s, surgery, medicine or similar. Day to day, the work is a real mix: short-notice analytical requests, project-based work and supporting longer-term improvements to how the Trust uses data.

The team is busy and the work can be fast-paced, so this would suit someone who’s comfortable juggling multiple priorities and can stay calm when things get a bit pressured.

What you’ll be doing
  • Producing accurate, timely analysis to support clinical and operational teams
  • Managing a varied workload across different services and priorities
  • Leading on specific reporting or analytical areas for the BI function
  • Working with stakeholders across the Trust and handling occasional challenging conversations
  • Coaching and line-managing junior analysts and checking the quality of their outputs
  • Supporting the wider BI team to improve processes, reporting and tools
  • Helping to develop new reports, dashboards and analytical approaches
What we’re looking for
  • Strong NHS BI experience at a senior/lead level
  • Confident working with complex datasets and multiple service areas
  • Able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience supporting or managing other analysts
  • Someone who can get up to speed quickly and work collaboratively
