A local government council in the UK is seeking a Bereavement Services team member to manage interments and cremation processes across multiple cemeteries. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, self-motivation, and a commitment to excellence during sensitive times. An exciting opportunity exists to join the Bereavement Services team at Sunderland City Council and work within this progressive department.
You will be responsible for preparing grave spaces for private interments and cremated remains, coordinating family burials throughout 10 cemeteries in Sunderland, liaising with Funeral Directors and Memorial Masons to ensure service excellence for every service and every family and overseeing cremation processing at Sunderland crematorium as part of a duty rotation.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivery of customer service, will be self‑motivated and driven to achieve high standards and be committed to service excellence, offering advice, support and care during what may be an emotional time for family and loved ones.
