A leading healthcare organization in Scunthorpe is seeking a Bereavement Midwife to lead care for bereaved families and provide training to staff within the maternity service. The ideal candidate will be a registered midwife with significant experience in bereavement care and the ability to develop educational programs. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality support for families and contributing to service development. The Bereavement Midwife will be a practicing midwife who will lead and work as a member of the multidisciplinary team within the maternity service. They will facilitate and provide individualised care to bereaved women and their families, provide clinical leadership and will play an integral part in service development. They will be pivotal in developing and delivering an education programme around baby loss and bereavement to all health care professionals. The bereavement midwife will assist in the development of guidelines and pathways in relation to stillbirths, late miscarriage, medical termination and neonatal deaths. Provision of reports as per local and national guidance specifies.
The Bereavement Midwife will have continuing responsibility for staff training in bereavement and support including induction training/package for new staff, organising and delivering multidisciplinary training, compiling and maintaining resources. The bereavement midwife will develop future conferences and work on creating a centre of excellence for other health care professionals to access. The bereavement midwife will keep abreast of current chances to service provision.
Uses information obtained from patients and service users and charitable organisations to make changes to the patient environment and care where appropriate or necessary.
