Job summary

A leading UK recruitment agency is seeking a Benefits Assessment Officer to support a Public Sector client in Cambridgeshire. This remote position requires proficiency with the IWorld/Northgate system and experience in assessing Housing Benefit claims. The ideal candidate will effectively handle universal credit cases and liaise with landlords and the Department for Work and Pensions. This is a full-time, remote opportunity.

Benefits Assessment Officer

Are you a Benefits Assessment Officer looking for work in Cambridgeshire remotely from home? Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client is looking to recruit a Benefits Assessment Officer to provide support throughout a busy period. This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35 and will offer full time home working.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proficiently use the IWorld/Northgate (NEC) Revenues and Benefits processing system
  • Assess all types of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support/Reduction claims for all tenure types
  • Process new claims and changes in circumstances
  • Assess student claims, persons from abroad, and self‑employed claims
  • Deal with Universal Credit cases
  • Assist with backlog clearance
  • Deal with ATLAS
  • Liaise with external organisations including Landlords, Employers and the Department for Work and Pensions
  • Advise claimants on Benefit entitlements and legislation changes
