We are a dedicated well-respected SEN school that supports children aged 5-16 with autism. An exciting position has recently just become available for a Behaviour Support Worker in the Forest of Dean. Our aim is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can reach their full potential and are put first.

Academics are recruiting a compassionate and motivated Behaviour Support Worker to join the team in a well-respected SEN school in the Forest of Dean. The successful Behaviour Support Worker will work closely with autistic children aged 5-16, supporting their behavioural, social and emotional needs through individualised support plans and positive coping behavioual strategies. This Behaviour Support Worker role will provide valuable experience and an excellent opportunity to support children who need extra help.

Responsibilities
  • Providing direct support to children with autism
  • Helping children manage behaviours and develop their social and learning skills
  • Monitor and discuss collaboratively children’s behaviour support plans with the help of other SEN staff
  • Observe and record children’s behaviour
  • Create an inclusive learning environment to help children succeed.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with autism or an SEN school is preferred
  • Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (or a willingness to complete upon appointment)
  • Patience, empathy, strong communication
  • Kind, compassionate and a caring individual
  • Ability to follow guidance and help from SEN specialists
