Job summary

St Bede s and St Joseph s Catholic College is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join its Radiate team and Inclusion provision. The role focuses on supporting students to improve behaviour and engagement through mentoring and targeted support.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 2 qualification in Health, Childcare, Youth Work, Community Language or equivalent experience.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Good computer skills.
• Commitment to inclusion and high expectations for every student.
• Willingness to undertake First Aid training.
• Understanding of and respect for the College ethos.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students within the College's internal behaviour and inclusion provision.
• Creating a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
• Delivering learning activities and targeted interventions.
• Mentoring students and monitoring their progress.
• Promoting positive values, attitudes and behaviour.
• Supervising internally excluded students and students outside lesson times.
• Supporting Individual Education Plans and Personal Care Programmes.
• Responding to behaviour incidents and escorting students to behaviour support.
• Assisting with investigations into breaches of the Behaviour Policy.
• Collating behaviour and achievement data and communicating detention information.
• Liaising with teachers, parents and other professionals.
• Invigilating examinations and administering routine tests when required.
• Supporting the wider Inclusion provision and long-term behaviour support unit.

The Role

About You

You will be a calm, confident and approachable team player with a genuine interest in supporting young people. You will need strong communication, mentoring, organisational and administrative skills, together with the resilience to support students with a wide range of needs.

Applicants should have:
