Job summary

A multi-academy trust in the UK seeks a Behaviour, Support and Inclusion specialist Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated secondary school team. This role requires experience working with vulnerable individuals and experience in delivering intervention groups. Key responsibilities include promoting disruption-free learning, managing behaviour, and providing support tailored to individual student needs. Responsibilities

Skills

Experience working with vulnerable children and/or adults

Job description

Salary: £28,000 - £29,000 per annum (£24,000 - £25,000 per annum pro-rated)

Term time only plus 4 inset days

Job Overview

We are seeking a Behaviour, Support and Inclusion specialist Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated secondary school team (ages 11-18). This is an exciting opportunity to support a happy and successful school community committed to high standards, inclusive practice and exceptional teaching.

The role sits within a large, multi-academy trust operating across several regions in the South and South West of England. The trust brings together a family of like‑minded schools that collaborate, share best practice and champion a culture of continuous learning. Staff are encouraged to contribute ideas, grow professionally and learn from one another.

Main Responsibilities
  • Promote disruption‑free learning throughout the school
  • Manage challenging behaviour and provide focused support to individual students
  • Assist colleagues responding to on‑call requests, escalating concerns when necessary
  • Contact parents and carers to help build strong, positive relationships
  • Remove students from lessons when behaviour becomes disruptive
  • Support the Reflection Room (internal exclusion) and manage related processes
  • Oversee paperwork for fixed‑term exclusions and liaise with relevant stakeholders
  • Track and monitor student progress within the Reflection Room and provide feedback to staff
  • Deliver effective pastoral support using a trauma‑informed approach

You Will Need
  • GCSEs (A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and/or adults
  • Experience delivering intervention groups
  • Familiarity with Management Information Systems
