We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor, SEMH Specialist to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, including those with PRU or alternative provision backgrounds, within a specialist school setting in North London.

The school is set in a beautiful, well‑maintained environment designed to feel calm, safe, and nurturing for both pupils and staff. With thoughtfully designed learning spaces, outdoor areas, and a strong focus on wellbeing, it offers a genuinely positive place to work. Staff are well supported, valued, and encouraged to grow professionally.

This full‑time role involves providing consistent 1:1 and small group support to pupils who may present with challenging behaviour or emotional regulation difficulties, working closely with an experienced pastoral and SEN team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group SEMH support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
  • Implement behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and individual strategies
  • Use de‑escalation, trauma‑informed, and restorative approaches consistently
  • Support emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour throughout the school day
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists to deliver targeted interventions
  • Adapt activities and strategies to meet individual emotional and developmental needs
  • Monitor behaviour and progress, contributing to reviews and planning meetings
  • Build trusting, positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and independence
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and/or PRU or alternative provision experience
  • Calm, patient, and confident in managing behaviour that challenges
  • Strong understanding of trauma‑informed practice and positive behaviour strategies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners to achieve positive outcomes
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Why This Role?
  • Work in a beautiful, welcoming school environment with excellent facilities
  • Join a supportive, experienced team that values staff wellbeing and collaboration
  • Access long‑term and permanent opportunities, not just short‑term placements
  • Clear pathways for career progression within behaviour support, SEN, and pastoral roles
  • Competitive daily pay, paid weekly
  • Free CPD and specialist training (SEMH, behaviour management, de‑escalation)
