Behaviour Mentor - Outstanding SEMH School (West Drayton)

Perms Education is excited to be recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted rated Outstanding SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in West Drayton. We are seeking confident, resilient, and motivated Behaviour Mentors to support young people with challenging behaviour and complex emotional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a specialist school environment where your support can make a life‑changing impact.

The Role
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Using positive behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma or barriers to learning.
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to promote engagement, emotional regulation, and positive routines.
  • Assisting the teaching team in creating a structured, safe, and nurturing environment.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to encourage resilience, confidence, and positive behaviour.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working in UK schools, PRUs, alternative provisions, youth work, sports coaching, or any role involving young people with challenging behaviour.
  • Confident, calm, and able to remain composed in high‑pressure situations.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of SEMH needs.
  • Empathetic, patient, and committed to helping young people succeed.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
