Job summary

An education recruitment agency in Witham is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support students facing challenges with mainstream learning. You will work closely with teachers, providing one-on-one support and promoting positive behavior throughout the school day. This full-time role requires excellent communication skills and prior experience with students having additional behavioral needs. A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential.

Role: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Witham
Pay Rate: £85 – £115 per day
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education is recruiting confident and empathetic Behaviour Mentors to support students in Witham who need additional guidance to manage their emotions and behaviour in the classroom.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to build trust and consistency for pupils who find mainstream learning challenging. You’ll support de-escalation strategies, provide emotional coaching, and promote positive routines throughout the school day.

Your Key Duties as a Behaviour Mentor:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group behavioural support
  • Develop and maintain behaviour support plans
  • Encourage positive communication and coping strategies
  • Monitor progress and liaise with SENCO and families
  • Create a safe, structured environment that promotes success
Ideal Behaviour Mentor Profile:
  • Prior experience supporting students with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Patient, calm, and resilient personality
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
