Job summary

A leading education provider in Kempston is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students with additional needs starting in January 2026. Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? Do you have the resilience, empathy and motivation to help students thrive both academically and emotionally? If so, this Kempston opportunity in the education and training environment could be perfect for you!

We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a highly supportive SEN Specialist School in Kempston this January. You will play a key role in helping students with a range of additional needs develop confidence, positive behaviour habits and strong emotional regulation in the education and training sector.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group mentoring for students with SEN and behavioural needs
  • Supporting pupils in class to help them remain engaged and focused and working alongside the Class Teacher and Teaching Assistants
  • Implementing personalised behaviour strategies and support plans
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, SENCOs and pastoral staff
  • Helping to create a calm, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with young people (education, youth work, care or similar)
  • A calm, patient and supportive approach
  • Ability to commute to Kempston
  • Genuine passion for working within an SEN environment
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
