Behaviour Mentor – (SEND Behaviour Provision)

Location: Bridgend

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Contract Type: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentors to join our specialist provision supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners who require tailored behavioural and emotional support in a nurturing educational environment.

The provision is a maintained special school located in Bridgend. It serves pupils ranging from ages of 7-18 with a wide range of additional needs, including social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD), autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide structured support to pupils with behavioural challenges
  • Implement and model positive behaviour strategies across the school day
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and academic engagement
  • Build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Contribute to the holistic development of learners, promoting resilience and self-esteem
About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working with children or young people with additional needs
  • Knowledgeable about behaviour management approaches and trauma-informed practice
  • Skilled at building rapport and maintaining boundaries
  • Passionate about inclusive education and committed to pupil wellbeing
  • Background in drama, sport, coaching, care
Essential requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Education workforce council (EWC) registration (or willingness to register)
