Job summary

The Learning Together Federation Freshfield Nursery School and Tithe Barn Primary School is seeking a part-time Before and After School Club Assistant Playworker to join its wraparound care team at both sites in Stockport. You will help provide a safe, warm and stimulating environment for children aged 3–11 before and after the school day.

Key duties include welcoming children, planning inclusive activities, safeguarding, maintaining records, and communicating with parents and school staff.

Qualifications

• Essential: Friendly, patient and approachable attitude with a genuine passion for working with children.
• Essential: Punctuality and strict reliability.
• Requirements: All appointments are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and satisfactory references.

Responsibilities

• Greet children warmly and help them settle into morning or afternoon sessions.
• Plan and deliver fun, inclusive activities including arts and crafts, sports, board games, and free play.
• Supervise children and support their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
• Assist with the preparation and serving of healthy breakfast or afternoon snacks.
• Maintain accurate registers, attendance logs, and safeguarding records.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, carers, and school staff at drop-off and pick-up.

Breakfast Club 7.30 am to 9.00 am Monday to Friday
After School club 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday

Fixed term, initially to 31st August 2027

We are looking for a caring, energetic, and reliable Playworker to join our wraparound care team. You will help provide a safe, warm, and stimulating environment for nursery and primary school children (aged 311) before and after the school day.

We have positions available at both schools. Please mark clearly on your form whether you are applying for breakfast club, after school club or both and if you can work at either school.
