Job summary

Pertemps Milton Keynes is hiring a HGV1 W&D Trunk Driver for a full-time, ongoing role based in Bedford. The job entails trunking between Regional and National Distribution Centres, with no handball or multi-drop duties and a 10:00 start from Tuesday to Saturday.

You will perform vehicle safety checks, complete trunk runs, and ensure goods are delivered securely and on time. A UK Class 1 licence, CPC card, and tachograph card are required, plus at least 6 months of Class 1 experience and clean

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid CPC qualification card.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Minimum 6 months' recent Class 1 driving experience.
• Previous wag and drag experience preferred.
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
• No DD, DR, CD, IN or TT endorsements.
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Professional, reliable and safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle safety checks and ensure roadworthiness.
• Complete trunking routes between RDCs and NDCs.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and logs for each run.
• Adhere to Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Ensure goods arrive securely and on time on trunk routes.
