TP Tutors are seeking educators who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives by achieving their academic goals and improving their attendance.

This role requires working closely with students on a 1-1 basis, providing high-quality sessions in English and Maths to maximize their potential and engagement. It involves working with children outside of a mainstream setting.

You will tutor learners in their homes or local libraries around Bedford.

  • Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teacher Status, QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge of English and Maths at KS3 level.
  • Experience working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH, and other additional needs.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one via TP Tutors (support provided).

This role involves:

  • Planning, creating, and delivering engaging sessions for children working below expectations.
  • Applying behavioral strategies to ensure engagement.
  • Understanding the child’s needs and interests to create a child-centred learning approach.
  • Assessing pupils, providing feedback, and planning next steps.
