Business Development Manager – Technology Sector

As part of the firm’s strategic focus on key growth sectors, my client is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the Technology group. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic business development team, working closely with sector leaders and stakeholders across the business to enhance the firm’s profile and drive commercial success in the technology sector.

The remit of this Business Development Manager role includes:

  • Collaborating with sector leaders to develop and implement business development plans that support growth objectives.
  • Leading on marketing initiatives and campaigns, including events, sponsorships, and thought leadership, to raise the sector’s profile in the market.
  • Identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and win new business.
  • Overseeing the preparation of compelling pitches and proposals for sector-focused opportunities.
  • Maintaining and updating sector-specific deal records and case studies.
  • Supporting the identification and pursuit of new opportunities, ensuring diverse and high-performing teams are involved.
  • Coordinating submissions for sector-specific directories and awards.
  • Facilitating internal meetings to share market insights and best practice across teams and regions.
  • Preparing reports for senior leadership as required.
  • Managing budgets related to sector business development activities.
Person Specification
  • Educated to degree level, with proven experience in business development within a professional services environment.
  • Ideally, some exposure to the technology sector, though this is not essential.
  • Confident, pragmatic, and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Highly organised, reliable, and able to deliver consistently to a high standard.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills, able to draw commercial insights from data.
  • Effective communicator, comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and working collaboratively across teams.
