We are looking for a business development specialist to accelerate profitable growth for our Capital Markets practice, with particular focus on Derivatives and Structured Products. You will work collaboratively with lawyers and global Business Development & Marketing colleagues to identify strategic opportunities, deliver data‑led intelligence, drive cross‑selling, and lead client‑centric initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement BD strategies and plans to position Linklaters as a market leader in Derivatives & Structured Products.
  • Ensure client targeting and growth strategies align with the firm’s global priorities.
  • Strengthen relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, and facilitate cross‑selling across practices and regions.
  • Drive and leverage data insights for horizon scanning, opportunity spotting, and pipeline management.
  • Lead on market‑leading pitch and panel submissions, contributing strategic input to win work for the practice.
  • Monitor external trends and gather market intelligence to inform BD activities.
  • Maximise use of technology, data tools, and global resources to deliver proactive, targeted insights.
  • Collaborate directly with global product teams to build and maintain a strong network across offices and the BDM function.

Qualifications
  • Proven business development experience within professional services, specifically in Capital Markets with exposure to Derivatives and Structured Products.
  • Deep understanding of derivatives markets, structured finance products, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
  • Track record of developing and executing strategies to deliver organisational growth.
  • Experience working across global teams and leveraging international resources for BD effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical ability in using data and market intelligence for BD decision‑making.
  • Confident relationship builder, with skills in fostering cross‑selling opportunities and supporting high‑impact pitches.
  • Degree in marketing, business or a related field (advanced qualifications in leadership or marketing preferred).
