Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking an experienced Basic Scaffolder for the Sizewell B project. The role runs Monday to Thursday, 38 hours, on a fixed-term contract with CTC clearance, from 4 January 2027 to 12 February 2027 (approx.). Travelling Labour accepted. Pay rate is £22.50 per hour.

Key duties include reading scaffold drawings, erecting and dismantling multiple scaffold types, maintaining safety, and completing task paperwork with daily liaison to site supervision.

Qualifications

• Scaffolding Card requirement.
• Site experience on scaffolding projects.
• Hold CTC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Read scaffold drawings and erect scaffold in line with drawings and specifications.
• Erect, dismantle and carry out various scaffold systems (tower, independent, birdcage, slung, cantilever, truss out).
• Temporary suspended scaffolds and access equipment.
• Follow safety policies, report defects, and ensure safe working conditions.

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Basic Scaffolder to join the team at Sizewell B for the upcoming project.

The work pattern for this position is, Monday - Thursday, 38 hours. This is a fixed term position which requires CTC clearance to be held. Starting 4th January 2027 until 12th February 2027 approx.

Travelling Labour is accepted for this position. Pay rate: £22.50 per hour

Key Deliverables

• Having an understanding of company safety policy and ensuring that it is complied with.
• Use the correct tools, plant and equipment and keep them in good condition. Ensure they are safe before use
• Report to supervision any defects in plant and equipment, protective clothing or safety equipment
• Work in a safe manner at all times, avoid taking unnecessary risks
• Keep working areas and welfare facilities in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times
• Report all accidents or incidents immediately to the supervisor or site manager
• Follow work instructions on the work order card
• Actively participate in pre-job risk assessments
• Keep working areas in a clean and tidy condition at all times
• Complete all the appropriate paperwork associated with the task as requested by Altrad and the client
• Liaise on a daily basis with the Site Supervisor/Manager and keep them fully informed of all issues.
• Adhere to SG4 requirements
• Read scaffold drawings and erect scaffold in line with drawings and specifications
• Erect, dismantle and carry out the following: Tower scaffolds, Independent scaffolds, Birdcage scaffolds, Slung scaffolds, Cantilever Scaffolds, Truss out Scaffolds, Proprietary scaffold system
• Temporary installed suspended scaffolds and access equipment
• Special design structures
• Comply with technical manual and relevant standards
• Give clear instructions which incorporate safety aspects and ensure that they are followed
