Role Overview

As Bars Manager at Aston Villa Football Club, you will play a vital leadership role in delivering an exceptional matchday and event experience. Responsible for overseeing all bar operations across Villa Park, you will manage a large team, ensure operational excellence, drive sales, and maintain the highest standards of service, hygiene, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and delivery of bar operations on matchdays, corporate events, and private functions
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of bar supervisors and front‑line staff
  • Ensure all bars operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with licensing and health & safety regulations
  • Manage stock control, ordering, deliveries, and minimise waste through effective processes
  • Deliver exceptional customer service standards across all bar areas
  • Drive revenue growth through effective upselling, promotions, and innovation
  • Produce rotas and staffing plans in line with business requirements and labour budgets
  • Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and presentation of all bar areas and equipment
  • Monitor performance metrics and customer feedback, using data to inform improvement plans

  • Proven experience in a bar or hospitality management role, ideally in a stadium, arena, or large event venue
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a large, diverse team
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Sound knowledge of bar operations, stock control, licensing laws, and health & safety procedures
  • Results‑oriented, with a focus on delivering great guest experiences and driving commercial success
  • Flexible and committed – able to work evenings, weekends, and all matchdays
