Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a Teacher of Barbering for SEMH interventions in Tower Hamlets. This full-time/term-time role involves delivering vocational barbering sessions integrated with SEMH support, starting immediately.

You will plan sessions, track pupil progress, and work with teachers and pastoral staff to re-engage pupils with school life. A Level 2/3 barbering qualification and strong behaviour management are essential.

Qualifications

• Barbering qualification Level 2/3 or equivalent.
• Experience in teaching, training or mentoring young people.
• Knowledge of SEMH needs in education.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Empathy, patience and ability to engage hard-to-reach learners.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging barbering sessions as part of SEMH interventions.
• Develop pupils' confidence, communication and social skills in barbering environment.
• Support individual pupils and small groups linked to personal development plans.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to support progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience and life skills through teaching and mentoring.
• Track outcomes and contribute to pupil progress reports.
