We are seeking a Bar Supervisor at ...At Sloane, a 5-star luxury hotel in Chelsea, for exceptional dining and bar service alongside in-room dining. You will drive guest satisfaction, manage operations, and collaborate with a talented team to deliver outstanding experiences.

You will apply leadership, wine knowledge, and upselling skills to maintain high service standards while supporting financial performance and staff development in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury property.
• Excellent knowledge of wines and champagne.
• Strong upselling skills and customer service know-how.
• Outgoing personality with a passion for creating unique experiences.
• Stay informed about trends, fashions, art and culture.
• French language skills desirable but not essential.
• Self-starter with creativity, high drive and results orientation.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate the team and maintain service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in comprehensive management of restaurant, and in-room dining services.
• Participate in departmental meetings and team briefings; support and guide teammates.
• Monitor health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
• Engage in show rounds, daily briefings and debriefs; VIP reporting.
• Coordinate staff training, including tastings.
• Meet cost of sales targets; analyse data to forecast revenues and costs.
• Exercise cost control while maintaining service standards.
• Familiarise with health and safety legislation and promote a safe working environment.
• Attend mandatory training and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Assess staffing needs and develop plans for future growth; coach and develop team.

What will I be doing?

As a Supervisor (Restaurant & Bar) at ...At Sloane, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests while maintaining the seamless operation and financial success of the restaurant, bar, and in-room dining services. You will collaborate closely with our team to enhance guest satisfaction and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This role demands excellent communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to cultivate positive relationships.

Operational Management

• Assist in the comprehensive management of restaurant, and in-room dining services.
• Actively participate in departmental meetings and team briefings, offering support and guidance to team members when needed to achieve collective objectives.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.

Managing Restaurant IRD

• Engage in show rounds, daily briefings, and debriefs.
• Interact with hotel guests and VIPs, providing VIP reports to the Executive Management Team.
• Coordinate and facilitate staff training, including regular tastings.

Financial Performance Management

• Meet established cost of sales targets.
• Analyse financial data to support decision-making and forecast potential revenues and costs.
• Exercise cost control measures while maintaining service standards.

Health and Safety Management

• Familiarise yourself with relevant health and safety legislation and ensure team members comply with regulations.
• Act in accordance with fire safety instructions and promote a safe working environment.
• Attend and stay updated on mandatory training and legislative changes.

Staffing and Team Development

• Assess staffing needs and develop plans for future growth.
• Coach, train, and nurture both management and hourly employees.
• Elevate team performance, morale, productivity, and enthusiasm.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury property (pre-opening experience is highly desirable).
