Dorchester Collection's Bar 45 at 45 Park Lane seeks a Barback to support bartenders, maintain a polished bar, and contribute to a five-star guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the bar setup before service, ensuring tools, garnishes, glassware, and beverages are prepared.
• Maintain bar and pantry cleanliness and organisation; keep workspaces safe, hygienic, and guest-ready.
• Prepare daily cocktail garnishes, fruits, and ice; assist with mise-en-place for timely drinks.
• Develop knowledge of drinks and food menus to assist the team and respond to guest inquiries.
• Respond to guest requests with a calm, solutions-focused attitude.
• Collaborate with bartenders and bar waiters to deliver Bar 45's elegant, dynamic energy.

What you'll do

As aBarbackat 45 Park Lane, you will be a vital member of the bar team, working behind the scenes to ensure smooth and efficient service throughout every shift. You’ll support the bartenders and bar waiters in creating memorable guest experiences by maintaining a polished, well-stocked, and energised bar environment. In this role, you will:

• Support the setup of the bar before service, ensuring all tools, garnishes, glassware, and beverages are prepared and presented to standard.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bar and pantry throughout the day, ensuring workspaces are safe, hygienic, and guest-ready at all times.
• Prepare daily cocktail garnishes, fruits, and ice, assisting bartenders with mise-en-place so they can deliver flawless, timely drinks service.
• Possess and develop a working knowledge of the drinks and food menus, so you can assist the team and respond to guest inquiries when required.
• Respond flexibly to guest special requests, and support the team with a calm, solutions-focused attitude when service demands shift.
• Collaborate closely with bartenders and bar waiters, becoming an essential link in delivering the elegant and dynamic energy that defines Bar 45.

What you'll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail, especially in maintaining high levels of cleanliness and organisation.
• A proactive and dependable approach - you are always ready to support the team without needing to be asked.
• Positive attitude, eager to learn new skills in a busy and dynamic setting.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in food and beverage environments.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holiday periods.
• Comfortable communicating in English with guests and colleagues.

Preferred Skills and Experiences

• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or luxury hospitality support role.
• Familiarity with basic bar tools, equipment, and beverage stock rotation.
• Awareness of cocktail garnishes, ice preparation, and bar mise-en-place.
• A passion for mixology, bar culture, or the desire to develop into a bartender role.
• Knowledge of five-star service environments and guest expectations.
