Overview

Location: Cardiff Bay
Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE

Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-known Financial Services organisation in Cardiff Bay in their search for an experienced Banking & Payments Specialist to join their finance team.

This is a key position responsible for managing all aspects of banking and payment processes within the business. The role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth execution of bank payments, maintaining strong banking relationships, and overseeing daily financial transactions.

You ll join a supportive, collaborative finance function where accuracy, reliability, and teamwork are at the heart of everything they do.

Responsibilities
Bank Payments & Transfers
  • Process and authorise bank payments accurately and in line with set timelines.
  • Coordinate daily fund movements across multiple bank accounts.
  • Ensure all payments comply with internal approval processes and controls.
Banking Operations
  • Manage and maintain company bank accounts across various entities.
  • Liaise with banks regarding transaction queries, account maintenance, and operational matters.
  • Support the setup of new banking arrangements and account structures as required.
Reconciliation & Reporting
  • Monitor and reconcile all bank transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare cash flow summaries and short-term payment forecasts.
  • Provide reports on banking activity and payment performance to senior management.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all banking activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with internal teams to strengthen payment security and support fraud prevention measures.
Skills and Experience
  • Prior experience in a banking or payments role, ideally within a financial services or corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international payment processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.
  • Confident communicator, able to build and maintain professional relationships with banks and internal stakeholders.
  • Experienced in using banking platforms and payment processing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate level) is advantageous.
