Job summary

Abbeyfield is seeking a Bank Cook & Housekeeper to join our Sheltered Housing team in Formby, near Liverpool. You will balance cooking duties with resident support, creating a safe, nourishing environment and ensuring meals, cleanliness, and well-being are maintained for our residents.

No prior experience is required as full training is provided; a caring, flexible approach is valued as you work bank hours to support older people in our community.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and serve home-cooked meals for residents, while maintaining food stock and ensuring proper rotation.

• Housekeeping: Ensure communal areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable environment for all.
• Wellbeing Promotion: Promote the overall wellbeing of our residents, ensuring they feel respected, empowered, and connected within our community.

Role: Cook & Housekeeper - Bank

Location: Milverton Lodge, 3 & 3a Brows Lane, Formby, Liverpool, L37 3HY

Hourly Rate: £13.61 - £14.03 p/h

Contract: Bank ( Casual )

We’re seeking Cook & Housekeeper staff to complement our existing Sheltered Housing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a flexible, rewarding role where they can make a real difference in the lives of older people.

About The Role

As a Cook & Housekeeper, you will take on a dual role, combining cooking and resident support responsibilities. You will directly impact the wellbeing of our residents by providing the support and care they need in a safe, nurturing environment.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

Pay & Benefits

• In line with your casual (bank) worker assignment agreement, we offer competitive pay that is benchmarked regularly, and in line with those of our employed staff in similar roles.

• To carry out this role, you will be provided with mandatory training to get you started, as part of a comprehensive induction. To work for us in future assignments, you will be expected to keep your mandatory training up to date.
