About The Role

We are looking for Bank Support Worker/Carers to work within our supported living service in Burnley. Covering days, evenings, sleep ins, and weekends. Driver essential as the people we support have their own mobility cars. The people we support have a range of needs including learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury.

Position:Support Worker (Supported Living - Bank)

Location:Burnley - for this role essential you be able to drive.

Hours: Bank, variable

WEDO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP.

This role will be providing 1-2-1 care to residents with complex learning disabilities and it is preferable that you drive for the role.

The position involves lone working. Shift work and weekends included. You may also be required to work sleep in shifts.

Being a driver is essential but it is not essential that you own a car.

The Role
  • The main focus of the support is to enable the people we support to live a full and happy life, to run their own home and to take part in a range of activities in the community.
  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

We provide support to adults with a range of disabilities including learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, mental health problems and sensory impairment in the Northwest of England. We provide local, personal and responsive services. We do this by remaining small and staying close to the people we support and the staff we employ.
