Luke – About the Client

Luke, born in 2012, is a very sociable young boy who loves swimming, walking, physical play and going on leisure outings. He enjoys having familiar people and his iPad around and is fully mobile but non-verbal with a severe brain injury at birth. He requires full support for all personal care needs and is doubly incontinent, requiring 24/7 supervision due to limited awareness of danger.

Role Overview

Your role will be to support Luke with personal care and accessing meaningful activities in and out of the home, sometimes with his mother as second support. You will need to be water confident, learn to communicate using non-verbal methods and his talk pad, and provide close supervision at all times to ensure his safety.
