Job description
Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Bank Sterile Services Technician to join the Sterile Services Department at Wexham Park Hospital. You will be part of a vital team responsible for the cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilisation of surgical instruments and medical equipment used throughout the Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Follow infection control and decontamination procedures to ensure instruments are processed to high quality and safety standards.
  • Carry out decontamination duties including receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilization of reusable medical devices.
  • Record all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems (tracking and tracing) database.
  • Work within a busy department and provide flexible cover on a Bank basis; shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
  • Contribute to specialised decontamination of medical devices service supporting clinical care of the patient.
  • Work in accordance with Department Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems under limited supervision and meet workload demands while achieving high quality standards (in-process checks and non-conformance reporting).
