You will support the Sterile Services Department Manager in providing effective decontamination and sterile supplies service. Responsibilities include reprocessing medical devices, maintaining inventory, and monitoring equipment. Previous healthcare experience is essential. We are looking for a Sterile Services Technician to join us on a Bank contract, as and when site needs hours covered. You will be a vital member of the team, supporting the Sterile Services Department Manager in providing a safe and effective decontamination and sterile supplies service to all hospital departments. This includes ensuring every medical device is prepared for patient use and undertaking decontamination tasks such as cleaning, checking, packing, assembling, sterilising and distribution of medical devices.

You will be a vital member of the team, working to support our Sterile Services Department Manager, in the provision of a safe and effective decontamination and sterile supplies service to all departments within the hospital. This will include ensuring that every medical device is prepared fit for the purpose prior to patient use and undertaking tasks involved with the decontamination process i.e. cleaning, checking, packing, assembling, sterilising and distribution of medical devices.
Hours are based on two shift patterns:
You will be coming from a very similar background, will be a strong team player and will have a good working appreciation of decontamination processes within a healthcare/surgical environment.
There is a requirement to stand while carrying out duties in all production areas; with a frequent requirement to exert a moderate to high physical effort while unloading and loading trolleys into autoclaves and washer-disinfectors.
You will be an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal, with a good degree of computer literacy.
The role requires applicants to preferably have Hepatitis B and TB vaccinations. Practice Plus Group will support successful applicants through a course if there is no evidence of immunisation.
