Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is expanding recruitment for bank Staff Nurses across Kent prisons, including HMP Elmley, Swaleside and Standford Hill on the Isle of Sheppey and other Kent sites. The role provides primary care and specialist interventions for offenders within an integrated healthcare model.

Bank staff are required to work at least two days in a 6-week period for supervision and team meetings. Candidates must have completed preceptorship training or have 6 months post-qualification

Job description

As part of the Kent Prison Healthcare contract awarded to Oxleas NHS trust, we are able to expand recruitment and are looking for compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Staff Nurse to join our friendly teams working across our Kent prisons on Bank. Our healthcare team have a real impact on promoting health and well-being to those in prison and we pride ourselves on using skills and strategies that instil hope for patients future resettlement back into the community. We directly deliver Mental Health, Physical Health, Pharmacy and Clinical Substance Misuse in an integrated healthcare delivery model to provide effective and responsive care to improve wellbeing and support better outcomes in the future. As part of the role you will be required to work at least two days in a 6-week period to have supervision, talks with colleagues, attended team meetings etc. In order to work as a bank only worker you will need to have completed preceptorship training or obtained 6 months post qualification experience.Main duties of the job We have 7 prisons in Kent: HMP Elmley, HMP Swaleside and HMP Standford Hill are all located on the Isle of Sheppey. HMP Rochester, HMP Cookham Wood, HMP Maidstone and HMP East Sutton Park are located in West Kent. We are looking for bank staff who will be able to pick up regular shifts at any of the sites above. As a Staff Nurse you will provide a quality primary care service and a range of specialist interventions for offenders. To support junior colleagues such as healthcare assistants.
