At The Christie Private Care, every role contributes to something deeply meaningful. As a specialist cancer centre, we support patients through some of the most important moments of their lives, delivering personalised care that combines clinical excellence with genuine compassion.

Joining our Chemotherapy Day Unit means becoming part of a highly skilled team dedicated to providing outstanding treatment and support for patients receiving cancer therapies. Working in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, The Christie Private Care offers access to one of Europe's leading cancer centres. Our colleagues care for patients receiving a wide range of systemic anti cancer treatments, including complex chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies, within a purpose built environment designed specifically for cancer care. You'll work alongside experienced oncology professionals and be part of a service that is focused on delivering safe, innovative and patient centred care.

As a Bank Staff Nurse within our Chemotherapy Day Unit, you'll enjoy the flexibility to work around your lifestyle while continuing to develop your specialist oncology skills. Our internal bank offers the freedom to choose shifts that suit your commitments, providing greater control over your work life balance while remaining connected to a supportive and experienced team. It's an ideal opportunity for experienced chemotherapy nurses looking for flexibility without compromising on the quality of care they deliver or the clinical environment they work within.

  • Administer Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy (SACT) safely and effectively in line with local policies, national guidance and individual treatment protocols.
  • Provide outstanding nursing care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients receiving cancer treatments.
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment, recognising and responding appropriately to adverse reactions and treatment related complications.
  • Work closely with oncologists, pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless and personalised patient care.
  • Provide supportive education and guidance to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
What you'll bring:
  • Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Current SACT competency and proven experience administering chemotherapy independently within an oncology or haematology setting.
  • Demonstrable experience caring for patients receiving systemic anti cancer treatments, with a strong understanding of treatment pathways and symptom management.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, communication and patient education skills, with a compassionate and patient centred approach.
  • The ability to work effectively within a specialist multidisciplinary team and the flexibility to support a range of bank shifts.
