Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) is seeking an experienced Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist (Band 6) for the Watford site. You will manage your own caseload and coordinate Stroke ESD referrals within an interdisciplinary team, delivering goal-focused neuro rehabilitation in the community.

The role involves supervising junior staff, contributing to audits, and working across a flexible 7-day service with weekend and bank holiday commitments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration.
• Up-to-date CPD portfolio and evidence of neuro rehabilitation CPD.
• Membership of a Special Interest Group (eg ACPIN).
• Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Responsabilités

• To perform physiotherapy assessment of patients with neurological presentations to develop and deliver an individualised treatment program.
• To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate positive rehab outcomes and timely discharge planning.
• To support initiatives to reduce length of stay, including key working.

• To hold responsibility for own caseload with or without direct supervision.

• To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to inform practice.

Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced physiotherapist to join the team. The role includes managing your own caseload as well as screening and co-ordinating new Stroke ESD referrals. The caseload includes; assessing and treating patients with acquired and progressive neurological conditions as part of an interdisciplinary team

Our team comprises of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Support workers

Successful applicants will be part of an enthusiastic, client centred team delivering goal focused interventions for patients in the community while working collaboratively with GPs, acute hospitals, Social care and other third sector organisations.

We have a well-established structure for clinical supervision and in service training; this will provide you with fantastic opportunities to enhance your existing knowledge and skills. It will also support your clinical work and professional development.

Main duties of the job

• To perform physiotherapy assessment of patients with neurological presentations on the Stroke and neuro rehabilitation pathways to develop and deliver an individualised treatment program.
• To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate positive rehab outcomes and timely, co-ordinated discharge planning.
• To fully support initiatives to reduce length of stay, including key working.
• To work flexibly, being willing to provide support on other rehabilitation wards when necessary.
• To hold responsibility for own caseload, working with and without direct supervision.
• Provide support for the clinical supervision for a rotational Band 5 physiotherapist, student physiotherapists and give direction to members of support staff.
• To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to inform own and general Physiotherapy practice within the unit.
• To participate in a 7-day service covering weekends and bank holiday on a rota basis.

Education/Qualifications

• Degree in Physiotherapy
• Current UK HCPC registration
• Evidence of up-to-date CPD portfolio, attendance at specialist short courses or equivalent CPD activities within the specialist areas of Neuro Rehabilitation.
• Member of a Special Interest Group relevant to this post such as ACPIN
• Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Experience

• Previous experience as a qualified physiotherapist, with both theoretical and practical knowledge across a broad range of Band 5 rotations, including Stroke/ Neurology/Neurosciences.
• Experience at band 6 level in Stroke/ Neurology.
• Experience of carrying out a comprehensive neurological assessment to formulate a comprehensive neurological treatment plan and goals.
• Experience of using a wide range of neuro-physiotherapeutic interventions for the treatment of patients with neurological conditions.
• Previous experience at Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist (Band 6) level in Neurology/ Stroke/ Neurosciences.
• Experience of working with patients with complex presentation which may include: Brain Injury, SCI, progressive neurological disorders.
• Experience of supervising and appraising other staff e.g. Band 5, rehabilitation assistants
• Experience of supervising physiotherapy students.
