Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Practitioner (Practice Nurse or equivalent) to support the Specialist Services Community Health Protection Response Service across Greater Manchester on a bank basis. The servicegtdhealthcare offers is in response to urgent public health preventative or responsive outbreaks. This is a great opportunity to work with and support a diverse range of patients in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities
  • Working within your own clinical remit and skill set, and with other clinicians and operational staff, you will respond to public health outbreaks such as Hepatitis A or Meningitis within community settings.
  • Assist the team with performing a variety of medical tasks such as taking throat or nasal swabs, administering medications or vaccinations under PGD's or PSD's.
  • Demonstrate a level of clinical practice that reflects gtd healthcare's policies, protocols and guidelines within the clinical strategy framework.
  • Work flexibly to support clinical services within scope of practice as per the service need.
  • Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure patients and their families are fully informed and consent to treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background and preferred ways of communicating. Anticipate barriers to communication and take action to improve communication.
Qualifications
  • Experience of and skills in immunisation and vaccination across a variety of age groups.
  • Ability to work in various community settings such as primary or secondary schools and care homes.
  • Experience of responding to public health outbreaks such as Hepatitis A or Meningitis within community settings.
