A leading charity organization in Burscough is seeking compassionate individuals to assist young people in supported accommodation. The role involves flexible shifts covering 7 days a week, where you'll provide support and ensure the safety of young residents, helping them develop independent living skills. Ideal candidates are approachable, trustworthy, and skilled at working with youth from various backgrounds.
Barnardo's provides supported accommodation to young people aged 16‑24 across multiple sites in Lancashire. The services aim to provide young people with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for independent living. The young people who live in our accommodation are from a range of backgrounds and are often either in the process of leaving care or have experienced homelessness.
This service provides 7 units of short-term accommodation‑based housing and support to young people aged 16‑25 who are vulnerable and unable to live independently in the community. This service is staffed 24/7.
Mariners View is comprised of 11 1‑bedroom flats and staff provide visiting support.
Moving On also manages 3 shared houses in Lancaster and Preston where young people, aged 18‑25, live with visiting support from Barnardo's staff.
We wish to add to our existing bank of reliable and high‑quality workers to assist us in the delivery of these services. We regularly need additional staffing cover, particularly in the event of staff vacancies or illness, and wish to identify suitable individuals to provide this vital service.
The successful candidates will participate in a rota that covers 7 days per week and 365 days per year. At the moment all of our Project Workers work a mixture of the following shifts:
Additional capacity is required on various days at times to be determined by the manager of the service.
The successful candidates will be skilled at working with young people who have a range of issues. They will be able to work effectively, often on their own, within a supported accommodation environment to ensure the young people are safe and able to develop their independent living skills.
