Main duties of the job

Our porters provide a variety of services to patients and departments, including conveying and moving of patients by wheelchair, trolley, bed etc., the collection and delivery of linen, refuse, clinical waste trolleys, food trolleys, stores, beds, bedding, furniture, equipment and records to designated area.

The role is to support high standards of care to patients accessing our services. You will need to embrace our trust values, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a flexible approach to your work.

We particularly require bank porters who can cover shifts in Berwick and potentially Alnwick.

We have a variety of shifts across 7 days a week and there will be hours to suit all; our expectation is that you pick up a minimum of two shifts per month. Our standard hourly pay is approx. £12.51. We offer hourly pay enhancements for shifts covered at night and over the weekends. This equates to approx. £17.63 per hour on a Saturday or any weekday between the hours of 8pm and 6am, or £22.90 per hour on a Sunday or public holiday.

Please note that it is a requirement of NHFM that all successful applicants pay for their own DBS certificate if a DBS check is required for the post. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first monthly pay.
