Job summary

Spire Bristol Hospital is inviting applications for a Bank Hospital Porter to join the portering team. Flexible shifts cover holidays and sickness, with a varied schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

You’ll support patient movement and hospital operations on a day-to-day basis. As part of a close-knit team, you’ll handle patient transport, equipment movement and waste management while upholding safety and infection control.

Qualifications

  • Experience in frontline customer service in a hospital or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work without supervision and be caring.

Responsibilities

  • To transfer and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner.
  • Move clinical equipment, medical supplies, goods and other items as required.
  • Responsible for the safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01.
  • Support clinical teams by maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment.
  • Respond promptly to portering requests and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues.
  • Uphold safety, infection-control and patient-handling standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department.
  • Complete additional portering and facilities tasks to support smooth running of the hospital.

Spire Bristol Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Hospital Porter to join our dynamic and experienced Porting team on the staffing bank. This role is for someone looking for flexible working shifts available to cover holidays and sickness. .

About the Role

As a Porter, you will provide vital support across the hospital, including the safe movement of patients, equipment and supplies. You will work as part of a close-knit team, covering a range of shifts including days, afternoons and nights.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Working Hours:

Shifts will be a variety 0600 - 1400, 1300 - 2100 and 1400-2200
