You will be working alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees, and you can build a career within the criminal justice system helping some of the most vulnerable people in society. We require Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, or Paramedics with 2 years post‑qualification experience who want to deliver gold‑standard care and be a proud part of a team that shares this vision and a genuine passion for developing clinical, forensic and wider skills.
The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. While detained, we provide individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, and gather any forensic samples needed by the police to aid investigations. Making careful records on our computerised systems, you will assess whether people are fit to be detained or released, administer medications when needed, and work with local liaison and diversion teams to address root‑cause issues that can prevent future crime. No previous forensic experience is required – we will provide all your training.
