Job summary

Cygnet Newton House in Lancashire is seeking an experienced Bank Nurse (RMN or RNLD) to deliver high-quality care on a flexible shift basis (days and nights). The service combines inpatient rehabilitation and community care for men, with a multidisciplinary team to support discharge planning and recovery.

You will take part in nursing assessments, documentation, audits, and CPD while supporting junior staff and ensuring safe medication administration. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold RMN or RNLD with a current NMC PIN.
• Commitment to delivering high quality patient care.
• Experience with care planning and risk assessment helpful.

Responsibilities

• Produce outstanding written reports from nursing assessments and observations.
• Work with the management team to audit and improve service quality.
• Attend training and engage in CPD to develop nursing knowledge.
• Ensure care plans are complete and maintained with patients, relatives and healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications safely per local and national guidelines.
• Provide direction and support to junior staff.

We are looking for a Bank Nurse (RMN or RNLD) with a passion for delivering outstanding care. You will have the flexibility to pick up shifts (days and nights) at Cygnet Newton House.

Cygnet Newton House offers both a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service and community rehabilitation (level 1) service for men. The service is dedicated to providing a high quality environment for promoting long-term recovery.

From admission, the team work with the men we support to maximise positive outcomes and recovery, while focusing on discharge plans to support them to move on to the least restrictive environment for them. Our dedicated clinical team provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training.

Located 1 mile from Blackpool centre, Cygnet Newton House benefits from being close to plenty of amenities. There are good public transport links in the area with regular buses to the beach and other popular locations – the bus stop is just outside the service.

Your day-to-day..

• Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments & observations
• Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, & improve quality
• Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing
• Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with patients, relatives & other healthcare professionals
• Safe administration of medication as per local and national guidelines
• Provide effective direction and support to junior members of the team

Essential

• The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits & demonstrate integrity in your role
• A good understanding of the latest nursing practices
• A commitment to patient recovery in order to effectively monitor, manage & reduce risk
• Compassion, resilience & a dedication to empower & support service user independence

Desirable

• Experience working within an Eating Disorder or Disordered Eating environment preferred but not essential
