We have an exciting opportunity for a BankMental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Stocken, a category C Men Prison located in Stretton, Rutland.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

BANK Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday - various shifts
  • 8am-4pm
  • 9am - 5pm
  • 8.30am - 4.30pm
  • 7.30am - 5.30pm

Main duties of the job

As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
  • Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
  • You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.
