Job summary

Westerton Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Laundry Assistant on bank hours to support residents' comfort and daily wellbeing. You will wash, dry, iron and return items, label clothing and keep the laundry area clean and organised. The role requires attention to detail and a reliable, team-oriented approach.

Infection control, hygiene and safety procedures are followed to ensure a safe, well‑run service for residents. PVG cover and uniform are provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Laundry Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to Bank hours per week
• Paid PVG, uniform provided

Role Overview

As Laundry Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents’ clothing and linen are cared for to a high standard, supporting comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing. This is a hands on role where attention to detail and organisation are essential.

You will be responsible for washing, drying, ironing and returning items correctly, ensuring all clothing is clearly labelled and handled with care. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the laundry area, you will ensure all processes are carried out safely and efficiently.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and laundry procedures, ensuring a consistent and reliable service that contributes to a well organised and comfortable environment.
