Job summary

Nuffield Health Cardiff and Vale Hospitals is seeking a Bank Housekeeper to help create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients. You will clean and prepare a range of areas using modern equipment and receive training to support high standards of hygiene.

The role is part-time bank work with no fixed weekly hours, offering flexible shifts to fit your availability while ensuring patient care and comfort across the Vale Hospital facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles.
• Ability to follow infection control standards.
• Flexible, motivated and able to adapt to changing shifts.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise work to minimise impact on patient experience.

Bank Housekeeper – Vale Hospital

Pay: £12.84 per hour. Part‑time bank work: you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but you work on an ad‑hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Housekeeper to help us create a clean, safe and pleasant environment for patients by cleaning and preparing a range of areas, utilising the latest equipment, products and supported by a first‑class training programme. You will undertake a variety of general responsibilities ranging from room cleaning, waste removal, linen collection and deep cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Organise your work and plan your time to ensure cleaning never gets in the way of a patient’s experience.
• Maintain friendly, attentive customer service and good communication, both with patients and in a team.
• Work with the Infection Prevention team, reporting incidents to the relevant members.
• Follow cleaning processes, ensuring the location is clean, pleasant and safe for patients.
• Assist with room cleaning, waste removal, linen collection and deep cleaning.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar housekeeping or cleaning role preferred.
• Well organised and able to work to infection control standards.
• Motivated, friendly, flexible and able to adapt to changing shift requirements.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills.
