Job summary

A healthcare organization in Newry is seeking experienced housekeepers to maintain high standards of cleanliness in its facilities. The role includes cleaning duties across various areas, following infection control and health safety practices. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in domestic or commercial cleaning, and training will be provided. Job description

We are currently looking for experienced housekeepers or cleaners to join our bank team. Applicants must have experience of cleaning and maintaining a house domestically or experience in a commercial setting such as hospitality, charity or schools.Previous experience in a healthcare setting, a strong knowledge of infection control, health and safety practices and in using cleaning equipment would be an advantage, however full training will be provided.Tasks include the day-to-day cleaning of Evora Hospice premises including the In-patient Unit, Day Hospice and Offices are carried out efficiently and effectively in accordance with agreed policies and procedures whilst ensuring high standards of practice are maintained. This role also involves laundry services.The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks before any appointment is made and must be available to work mid-week shifts.

Responsibilities
  • To maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control procedures in all areas.
  • Follow cleaning schedules as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor
  • Carry out standard and deep cleaning duties using floor polisher, washing machines and other equipment.
  • Replenish consumable items such as soap, toilet rolls, paper towels and hand wash.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Applicants must have experience of cleaning and maintaining a house domestically or experience in a commercial setting such as hospitality, charity or schools.
  • Be able to work well independently/team.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, a strong knowledge of infection control, health and safety practices and in using cleaning equipment would be an advantage.
