Job description

A Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) is a core member of the team delivering personal care to patients and supporting registered practitioners to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care. You will carry out a range of non‑clinical healthcare tasks, under the direct supervision of the registered healthcare practitioner. Your role is to provide compassionate care to agreed quality standards and in accordance with Trust values. You will be expected to complete 5 days of induction within a week. If successful, you will be employed on a zero‑hour agreement and on occasions you will be required to work between our Bristol and Weston sites.

If you are currently a bank worker at either UHBW or NBT, you do not need to apply for a bank role with the other trust – you can join the collaborative bank allowing you to book shifts across both Trusts.

  • Have at least 6 months experience working in an acute healthcare setting within the past 12 months OR are a Student Nurse, having completed your first placement (please ensure this is documented in your application).
  • GCSE A‑C (grade 4 and above) in English & Math’s or equivalent.
  • Be able to work a minimum of 2 shifts, in a rolling 4‑month period and remain compliant with all essential training to remain in post.
